While today’s announcement that a successor to the Nintendo Switch is officially in production and due to be announced within the next year, Nintendo’s fiscal results for the year ending March 2024 still have plenty of other interesting tidbits to look at.

In terms of software, there aren’t any significant changes to the company’s top performing game list but Nintendo does note that 31 games overall sold over 1 million units in the fiscal year – 20 from Nintendo and 11 from third parties. These include newcomers like Princess Peach: Showtime (1.2 million units) and Mario vs. Donkey Kong’s remake (1.12 million units). Super Mario RPG fans will be happy to hear that classic game has moved 3.3 million units, too!

Perhaps most exciting, though, is Nintendo’s forecast to sell 13.5 million Switch hardware units by the end of the next fiscal year. If this pans out, the Switch would become the best selling Nintendo system ever, just barely beating the Nintendo DS.

We’re sure to get some fairly interesting financial reports as we approach the Switch successor’s reveal and we’ll be sure to bring you all the latest as it comes in.
