“Peach’s foray onto the stage is is full of whimsy and many moments of sheer joy, just as 2023’s Super Mario Wonder is, but the difference is that this is Peach’s game – and hers alone. Despite the Sour Bunch trying to sully the Sparkle Theater’s reputation, Princess Peach is here – as a Cowgirl, Ninja, Detective, and so forth – to put a stop to that. And she puts on a wonderful, replayable, empowering performance while doing so.”

“I was pleasantly surprised by Princess Peach: Showtime, and the aforementioned unpredictability is a huge reason why it will likely remain in my permanent rotation of Mario games going forward. I’d love to see Nintendo give more mascots a showcase like this, with a similar go-for-broke variety format. Keep ’em coming!”

Eurogamer – 4/5

“‘Showtime!’ displays great promise for a Peach franchise. It’s too bad the project feels more like a dainty step toward more substantive gameplay opportunities.”
Gene Park – Washington Post
GameSpot – 7/10
IGN – 7/10
NME – 6/10
“By trying to do too much at once, Princess Peach becomes a jack of all trades, a master of none which isn’t really what you want from her first solo title in 19 years. It’s a wonderful vessel to introduce people to the scope of gaming but Showtime feels more like a glimpse into what the character of Peach could become in the future, rather than a showcase of who she is now.”
