Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland is set to release digitally sometime this month on several platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. This new Rugrats game is inspired by several retro platformers, and features Tommy, Chuckie, Lil, and Phil as they adventure around Tommy’s house, which has magically changed into a video game world through their imaginations.

Physical collectors need not feel left out of the fun, however, as Limited Run Games is publishing several physical editions of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland on behalf of The MIX Games, including a working NES cartridge containing the game. Limited Run is offering three options for each non-NES platform: the base game, VHS Edition, and Collector’s Edition.

What comes in the VHS Edition of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland?

The VHS Edition of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland will feature a physical copy of the game, as well as a case styled to look like the bright orange Nickelodeon VHS tapes of the ’90s with a protective slipcover. The VHS Edition also comes with a shiny gold steelbook featuring every baby’s favorite dinosaur, Reptar. Unfortunately, the NES cartridge is not available in the VHS Edition.

The pre-orders for the VHS Edition of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland from Limited Run Games will be available for $64.99 starting Friday, March 8th, at 10 a.m. ET.

What comes in the Collector’s Edition of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland?

The Collector’s Edition of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland will feature everything available to those who purchase the VHS Edition: Base game, VHS-style case, and the Reptar Steelbook. The Collector’s Edition will also contain a CD copy of the game’s soundtrack, a Certificate of Authenticity in the style of a Rugrats episode title card, and a six-inch golden vinyl figure of Reptar, all in a nice, big collector’s box. The included Reptar figure is posable, as well, with six points of articulation on his arms, legs, head, and tail.

The pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland from Limited Run Games will be available for $124.99 starting Friday, March 8th, at 10 a.m. ET.

What about the NES cartridge of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland?

Passionate collectors who want to take their Rugrats collection to the next level can also snag the NES version of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland in two different ways. The base edition of the game is available on a standard gray NES cartridge. This base edition will also include a slipcase, instruction booklet, and a double-sided poster.

The Collector’s Edition NES package is where you get the best of both worlds. You’ll receive all of the Collector’s Edition items mentioned above, but the base game will be on an exclusive bright Nickelodeon-orange NES Cartridge. This version will also include the slipcase, instruction booklet, and double-sided poster from the standard NES edition.

The pre-orders for both NES Editions of Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland from Limited Run Games will be available starting Friday, March 8th, at 10 a.m. ET. The standard NES Edition will be available for $59.99, and the NES Collector’s Edition will be available for $119.99.
