Blessed be the day! The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived! Nintendo has officially announced that Mother 3, the long-anticipated and often memed Game Boy Advance title, is finally making its way to Nintendo Switch Online… in Japan, that is.
That’s right! The title that everyone and their mother (no pun intended) has been begging Nintendo to localize for literal decades is finally coming to the Japanese Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance service. Obviously, because the game has never been officially localized (unless you count the amazing fan translation), there will be no support for English dialogue.
Is there any hope for an official English Translation of Mother 3?
With today’s announcement, it feels like the chances of an official English translation seem to be even bleaker than ever. There was some hope that Nintendo would release a compilation of the Mother franchise at some point on the Switch, but with the title dropping for the online service, those hopes may very well be dashed for now. But fear not! In addition to the game announcement, The Mother Project has also unveiled a set of four Mother 3 plushies that you can cuddle with as you cry yourself to sleep. Check them out below.
