It’s official! After weeks of speculation, Nintendo has announced it’s hosting a Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, February 21st, and 6:00 AM PT / 9:00 AM ET. Unfortunately, those hoping for news on the Switch 2 or 1st party titles, you’ll have to wait a bit longer, as this Direct is a Partner Showcase.

What is a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase?
For those of you asking yourselves, “Just what the heck is a Partner Showcase?”, well, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Expect news from 3rd party developers and not a whole lot more. Now, that’s not to say that Nintendo won’t sneak in some 1st party news at the end, but don’t get your hopes too high.
Will the Switch 2 be announced at the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase?
It is extremely unlikely for Nintendo to share any news on the Switch 2 during this event. However, they may tease a future announcement during the presentation. Once again, don’t get your hopes too high.
