Collectors can tell you how frustrating it can be when the wonderful box art of a game is covered up by intrusive text and labels. If that doesn’t seem annoying, see the Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition box art as a particularly egregious example. Fortunately for Nintendo Switch games, a better option exists – but only in Southeast Asia.

Starting in 2024, first party titles released in southeast Asia will no longer feature the age rating on the front cover of the box, so long as they aren’t rated IMDA 18+. That means the only element obscuring the box art will be the Nintendo Switch logo in the top left corner, which almost definitely isn’t going away any time soon. That being said, this is big news for collectors! These new covers will be perfect for displays, so it’s safe to say that those interested will want to keep an eye on any online retailers this next year.
