Update (12/14/23): Palia is available to play on Switch today! Check out the launch trailer below, and make sure to check out our impressions to see what we think about the new role-playing adventure game.

Every year, The Game Awards features updates for games, world premieres, further looks at upcoming titles, and more. During this year’s show, Singularity 6 showcased their cozy sim MMO Palia – specifically the Nintendo Switch version.

Previously featured in Nintendo’s Direct for June 2023, Palia’s release date for Switch was slated by the end of 2023. Well, we’re almost there, but luckily we just have to wait one more week. Starting on Thursday, December 14th, 2023 at 8 a.m. PT | 11 a.m. ET, Nintendo Switch owners can explore Palia for free.

Launching for PC back in August, players can enjoy cross-play and cross-progression support between the PC and Nintendo Switch versions. In fact, there’s even an incentive for players to link their Nintendo Switch and Palia accounts together.

According to Singularity 6, the following rewards will be available, but two are time-sensitive:

  • Leapfroggy Outfit Account Linking Reward: Switch up your look and hop around in style when you link your Nintendo Switch to your Palia account until January 14th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PT to earn the time-limited Leapfroggy Outfit reward.
  • Mushroom Glider Account Linking Reward: Link your Nintendo Switch to a Palia account to receive an exclusive glider that will have you traversing the Palian landscape faster than a rogue ‘Flothinger.’
  • Freshly Painted Froggy Bucket Log-in Reward: Log-in and play Palia starting on launch day to claim this time-limited crimson variant of the fan-favorite Froggy Bucket before the reward window croaks on March 14th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Ahead of the game’s release on Nintendo Switch, the official Palia site has a blog post outlining how to link accounts.

For those interested, you can pre-order Palia for free on Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop. To make an account for Palia, you can visit Palia’s website or even use someone’s referral link (as there are five Refer A Friend rewards currently available). And, even better, you don’t need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription to partake in the fun!
