Professor Layton is back, baby! At the Level-5 Vision 2023 event earlier today, it was officially announced that a new installment in the Professor Layton series, titled Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, is set to arrive sometime in 2025.
According to the newly updated teaser site, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam unfolds one year after the events of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Stepping into the uncharted territory of Steam Bison, America, players will find themselves in a world transformed by the extraordinary power of highly advanced steam engines. And what would a Professor Layton game be without puzzles? Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will feature puzzles created by QuizKnock. In their own words, they are “a group specialized in creating quizzes and riddles for all kinds of media.” Notably, they boast a YouTube channel with over 2 million subscribers dedicated to puzzles.
No word yet on platforms, but it’s safe to say that New World of Steam will likely see a release on Switch or a Nintendo Switch successor when it launches in 2015. Stay tuned!
