As we approach the end of 2023, fans of the Mother/Earthbound series have an amazing tradition to look forward to – the annual Mother pop-up shop at the PARCO shopping center in Shibuya City. This year’s festivities promise to be extra special, as the spotlight falls on one of the series’ most iconic and fiendish characters – Porky.

Starting on December 15th, attendees will be treated to an unforgettable, Mother-themed, experience as New Pork City, the Porky-themed city from Mother 3, is recreated on the 8th floor of the PARCO shopping center, aptly named “New Pork PARCO City.”

And what’s a pop-up shop without merch? The event will feature a pair of new items that feature Porky himself. Now, before we get too far ahead of ourselves, you should know that all the merchandise below will be available in-store and online at the Mother Project webpage. Like with other Mother merch drops, we expect all of the items to ship to North America without any issues — but keep in mind, it does tend to sell out fast. More details on how to order can be found below.

So, without further ado, let’s breakdown what will be available.

Friends Yo-Yo (¥2,200 or $15 USD): Ness isn’t the only one that gets a yo-yo! This green yo-yo features images of both Ness and Porky and dons a red string. Best of all, this bad boy even glows in the dark! It will be available to purchase both online and in-store for about $15.

Porky and Mr. Saturn Plush (¥6,600 or $45 USD): The crown jewel of this collection will have to go to the Porky and Mr. Saturn Plus combo pack. Like the Chosen Four Plushes that we saw last year, Porky and Mr. Saturn look to be extremely high quality. If you want to pick up a set, you can snag the box set for around $45.

“With my eternal life, I shall see the world through to its end!” – Plushie Porky

For fans unable to attend the event in person, don’t give up hope! The featured merchandise from Shibuya PARCO’s “New Pork PARCO City” will be available for purchase online at the Mother Project online shop on Friday, December 15th, 2023, at 11 a.m. JST | 9 p.m. ET. If you’re hoping to attend in person, you’ll need to make a reservation starting on December 1st. You can find out everything you need to pre-register for the event here. Good luck!
