Based on the same Super Mario RPG leak that we reported on earlier this week, it appears that the Super Mario RPG remake runs on Unity and has an internal codename of Stella. We also now know that the remake was developed by ArtePiazza, a small studio known for working with Square Enix on several Dragon Quest remakes including Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past on the Nintendo 3DS. The studio is also responsible for the 2D mode present in the 3DS and Definitive Editions of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

It’s no surprise that a trusted partner of Square Enix was tasked with handling this bombshell of a remake, and we’ll be able to experience all of their fine work when the Super Mario RPG remake releases tomorrow, November 17th.
