The sixth and final wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass is finally out in the world. Booster Course Pass – Wave 6 includes 8 tracks new to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as well as four new racers and 17 new Mii Racing Suits. What hasn’t received a lot of attention, however, is the fact that the update that came along with Wave 6 added a scant amount of new amiibo functionality.
The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 3.0.0 update has made it a little easier to get some of the Mii Racing Suits obtained by scanning amiibo, as well as added a new Mii Racing Suit for scanning a Daisy amiibo. The full list of new amiibo functionality is below:
- Made it so you can acquire the Mii Racing Suit “Varia Suit” when scanning any Metroid series amiibo.
- Made it so you can acquire the Mii Racing Suit “Hylian Suit” when scanning any Legend of Zelda series amiibo.
- Made it so you can acquire the Mii Racing Suit “Kirby Suit” when scanning any Kirby series amiibo.
- Made it so you can acquire the Mii Racing Suit “Daisy Suit” when scanning a Daisy amiibo.
(Keep in mind the amiibo below are merely a few of the figures you can scan. You can use other amiibo from Metroid, Zelda, and Kirby series as well!)
This new amiibo functionality is certainly unexpected but definitely appreciated, as some of the amiibo required to unlock these Mii Racing Suits have become harder to find in the years since they were released.
