The Super Mario RPG remake is only a scant few weeks away, and some new information is coming to us from the Japanese website and press release, as translated by redditor u/Diligent-Middle1090. By beating the game, you’ll unlock a Sound Player that can play both the remastered and original SNES tracks in the game.

You can also examine monster stats directly from a menu, showing status weaknesses, Fun Facts, and more. It also looks like Mallow’s “Psychopath” ability has taken on some qualities from Paper Mario’s “Tattle,” adding monster info enemy by enemy into the log.

There are also some example Triple Move Attacks: Mario, Peach, and Bowser’s “Invincible Spike Shell” hits all enemies with an invincible shell; Mario, Mallow, and Geno’s “Star Riders” uses star pieces to hit foes in a combo attack; Mario, Peach, and Geno’s “Protecting Veil” protects the party from attacks; and Mario, Mallow, and Bowser’s Spark-Freeze-Fire Big Bomb deals Thunder, Ice, and Fire damage to all enemies. There are even more combinations to discover, too! (Definitely check out the Reddit thread if you have a chance.)

Other granular details like a walk/run toggle and the ability to save anywhere outside of battle are also mentioned. Overall, it seems like a number of bells and whistles have been added! Super Mario RPG releases on the Switch November 17th. Looking to secure your copy?
