At long last English-speaking fans of the Trails series are about to get the next chapter in the story, after a not-so-small adventure to the past with the recently localized Crossbell duology. Falcom and NIS America have confirmed that the next game, previously known as Kuro no Kiseki in Japan, will be getting a localized release as The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak next summer.

Check out the first English trailer below:

Trails through Daybreak takes the adventure to a new country – the oft-mentioned Calvard Republic. It follows the new protagonist Van Arkride, a man for hire whether it be bounty hunting, detective work, or anything else legitimate sources can’t accept. It also features a revamped Active-Time battle system.

You’ll be able to embark on this new journey in summer 2024 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
