Mortal Kombat 1 just released, and it’s gotten some very good reviews… on most consoles. While lacking in coverage compared to the PS5 and Xbox Seris X|S, the Nintendo Switch version has received huge pushback for its performance issues, with a 4/10 Nintendo Life review citing “frame rate issues, big resolution dips, input and timing problems related to performance drops, missing content, game-breaking bugs in Invasion mode, long loading times, and unresponsive menus.” A 3/10 review from IGN isn’t any kinder.

In response to the severity of the problems, series creator Ed Boon has promised that the Switch version will be getting patches. “”It would have been ideal for us to have released the version that we absolutely wanted,” Boon said. “But anything that we’re finding a problem with is on our list and is going to be fixed.” He promises that the title will be supported on Switch just like Mortal Kombat 1 was.

There will be some matters, like the game’s pricing (it’s the same on the Switch as on other platforms) that may take more than a patch to resolve. But hopefully the most glaring issues get ironed out soon.
