It’s the end of an era! Earlier this morning, Nintendo announced that the voice of Mario, Charles Martinet, will be stepping back from voicing beloved characters in the Super Mario universe. Instead, a new role has been created for Charles — deemed the Mario Ambassador.

The exact meaning of “Mario Ambassador” is still unknown, but at least it’s a consolation that Mr. Martinet will continue to be associated with Nintendo in some capacity.
