Today’s lengthy Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC trailer had a fairly detailed tour of the new locations we’ll be visiting but sprinkled throughout were some new Pokémon faces!

For starters we have perhaps the most fitting Pokémon of all for a festival, the candy apple-themed Applin evolution Dipplin. This joins Flapple and Appletun as evolutions for the Grass/Dragon type which made its debut in Sword and Shield. You’ll be able to get your own in The Teal Mask DLC.

Applin isn’t the only Sword and Shield Pokémon to get a new evolution, either, as the Steel/Dragon Duraludon will be able to evolve into Archaludon once The Indigo Disk rolls around.

The last new Pokémon we got a clear look at didn’t get much fanfare but they certainly make an impression. Joining Walking Wake’s take on Suicune we have a Paradox version of Raikou with a rather prominent neck called Raging Bolt, while the Swords of Justice’s Cobalion has Iron Crown.

The Teal Mask will release on September 13th while The Indigo Disk launches this winter.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
