The Switch has become something of a paradise for Bubble Bobble fans, with various games old and new heading to the system. Now, the third game is on the way courtesy of ININ Games.

Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III was essentially Taito mashing up both of the prior two entries. Like its immediate predecessor, Rainbow Islands, it features the humanoid forms of Bubby and Bobby but the gameplay takes more after the original. It’s also notable for not having an arcade version, instead debuting for the PC Engine.

It’s that PC Engine version that’s being ported to modern platforms here, and you can get an idea of how it plays in the trailer below:

Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III will hit the Nintendo Switch in late 2023 and Strictly Limited Games are expected to release a physical version with pre-orders opening July 27th.
