They say there’s no such thing as bad publicity. Well, in that case, Nintendo is gonna be raking in the cash for the upcoming Pikmin 4, because one intrepid fan has paid for the greatest advertisement of all: a 15-second advert for the game upon a Times Square billboard featuring the intrepid marooned space captain Olimar… twerking.
I just violated the entirety of NYC

The stunt was done via tsx.live, a service that allows you to play 15 second videos in the real, actual Times Square for $40. That’s both steep for a 15-second spot on limited real estate and extremely cheap for a Times Square advertisement, thus leading to the one of a kind advertisement. Apparently the service doesn’t really have checks for copyright or anything like that, because it’s a bit hard to imagine Nintendo approving of something like this.
Pikmin 4 releases July 21st.
