In recent years, people have lamented the growing disappearance of forums as the internet consolidates around fewer and fewer websites that seem to just actively make things worse over time. What happened to the good old days of slapfighting with a complete stranger for days on end on inane topics with the gravitas of a black hole? Well, The Pokémon Company remembers those times, and it’s launched official Pokémon forums for all the fans of the world to congregate.

While the initial release was filled with the exact kind of internet churn that you would expect, as we noted in our first tweet about the forums, the site’s been cleaned up significantly already and is now full of innocuous posts like those listed above. We imagine a tight moderator team is on hand to make sure posts about “which Pokémon would you like to smooch” don’t pass through unnoticed. You can register and start posting on the forums yourself right now.
