The absolutely charming, puzzle-solving meets story crafting game, Storyteller, made an appearance in today’s Annapurna Interactive Showcase 2023. Released earlier this year on Nintendo Switch and PC, its spot in Annapurna Interactive’s presentation announced a free update is in the works and that the game would also be coming to Netflix.

According to a press release, Storyteller’s free content update includes “all new themes, chapters, and a mischievous new character that will allow players to re-experience the game’s stories with a new twist.” The announcement trailer shows off that mischievous new character – a devil ready to inflict chaos into various story prompts. Thanks to this new upcoming addition, several previous levels will be replayable with the devil causing stories to end tragically (or even with a humorous twist). Other new characters shown off in the trailer include a dog, as well as God and the snake/serpent for Adam and Eve-themed levels.

We’ll have to wait nearly three more months for this update, as it’ll be available on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023. (The Netflix version will release that same day.) In the meantime, Storyteller is available for purchase via the Nintendo eShop and on Steam for PC. If you’re curious about the game you can always read our Storyteller review.
