It’s been a while since Nintendo has taken center stage at a live event. With Nintendo’s absence from E3 last year and the complete cancellation of the event this year, you can only imagine my surprise and delight when the company announced its own live event — introducing Nintendo Live, a parallel event to PAX West in Seattle, Washington, taking place from September 1st to 4th! The opportunity promises an array of tournaments, photo-ops, and exclusive merchandise. And the best part? You don’t have to be part of the industry to attend. In fact, Nintendo has just opened up registration, but keep in mind, it’s not a guarantee that you’ll be selected.
According to Nintendo, fans can register for a chance to attend the event by visiting the Nintendo Live webpage and filling out a registration form. Both families and individuals can register for one of the four event days. Nintendo will then conduct a random draw and contact the winners of the raffle at a later date.

Tournaments
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Squad Strike Challenge 2023
Starting at 12 p.m. PT on Friday, Sept. 1, it’s squad-vs-squad in a single-elimination, best-of-three tournament featuring the Squad Strike game mode open to players ages 13 and up.
Each player chooses three fighters as their squad and sees which crew is the champion! Prizes include a Grand Prize trophy and a commemorative coin.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2023 Qualifier at Nintendo Live Seattle
Starting at 11:30 a.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 2, it’s time to leave the competition in the rear view and set your sights on the stage! The top eight players will boost with the best of them on the big stage in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2023 tournament the same day.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2023
Starting at 3 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 2, top Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players will go bumper-to-bumper in person to take home the Grand Prize trophy in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2023 tournament! Racers will be the top players from the online Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2023 Qualifier and the onsite Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2023 Qualifier at Nintendo Live Seattle tournaments.
The winner will score a Grand Prize trophy and a custom-painted Nintendo Switch Pro Controller decked out with a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe theme.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo + me Exhibition 2023
Starting at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 3, players ages 10 to 16 and their amiibo fighters can take part in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo + me Exhibition 2023 tournament. This single-elimination tournament will feature the top 8 contenders teaming up with their amiibo amigos to fight it out on the stage.
Train up your Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo fighter and battle side-by-side to win. The winner scores a trophy and a trip for four to Super Nintendo World – Universal Studios Hollywood.
Splatoon 3 Championship 2023
Starting at 11 a.m. PT on Monday, Sept. 4, top players from the online Splatoon 3 Championship 2023 Qualifier tournament will take the stage and face off to see who splats supreme. The winning team members will receive a Grand Prize trophy and a custom painted Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch Pro Controller!
Splatoon 3 Championship 2023 Qualifier
You can still register your team for the Splatoon 3 Championship 2023 Qualifier events, on June 3-4 and June 10-11. The top two teams from each event will receive a trip to Nintendo Live 2023 in Seattle, a spot to compete in the Splatoon 3 Championship 2023 tournament, and a package of other great prizes including a trophy, a jacket, My Nintendo Gold Points and more!
