When Sonic Origins released last summer, it was let down by a variety of bugs, which were pointed out by Headcannon’s lead developer Stealth. Headcannon helped put together the mobile ports of Sonic 1 and 2 as well as Sonic Mania, so this vocal response caused quite the stir. While the studio had provided the Retro Engine versions of the games included in the collection, Sega modified them for the compilation.

It seems Sega took note of the issues, though, and elected to involve Headcannon in the upcoming Sonic Origins Plus.

As detailed in the above Twitter thread, Headcannon was involved with implementing Amy Rose as a playable character and also implemented a variety of “additional updates and enhancements” to the whole collection.

We’ll just have to wait and see how the game holds up when Sonic Origins Plus launches on June 23rd.
