Respawn Entertainment has announced the launch of its latest Apex Legends event, the Sun Squad Collection Event. The event features a brand new limited-time mode called “Heatwave,” 24 limited-time cosmetics, and the debut of Ash’s “Strongest Link” Heirloom.

Heatwave is a new limited-time mode that turns up the heat on the Apex Games. All the usual rules of Trios apply, but players will need to avoid taking damage from the sun by taking cover indoors or under objects during Heatwaves.

If caught out in the open, sliding cools players down and helps them avoid Heatwave damage while on the move. Heatshields have also been increased in size to protect players in a large area from the sun. However, players must be careful when using Heatshields as they will be destroyed quickly when deployed outside the Ring.

The Sun Squad Collection Event also offers players the chance to unlock 24 limited-time cosmetics, including Legendary skins for Ash, Mirage, Fuse, and more. All 24 items will be available in exchange for Apex Coins or Crafting Metals and in Sun Squad Collection Event Apex Packs for the entire duration of the event. Players who unlock all 24 items before the event ends will automatically receive Ash’s “Strongest Link” Heirloom.

Additionally, the event features a reward tracker where players can earn up to 1,600 points per day, and challenges refresh daily. All these challenges also stack with players’ Battle Pass, so they can complete multiple challenges at once.

Players can also explore limited-time offers in the Store tab, including the Sub-Mirage or the Shoreline Savior Bundles, available from March 28th to April 11th. Weekly offers like Bangalore’s Bring The Pain Bundle, available from March 31st to April 4th only, and Lifeline’s Breach and Clear Bundle, available from April 4th to April 11th only, are also available.

The Sun Squad Collection Event is sure to heat up the competition in Apex Legends. Players can jump into the new Heatwave mode and start collecting limited-time cosmetics from March 28th to April 11th.
