Today’s Nintendo Direct briefly touched on Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, revealing a brand-new Yoshi’s Island-themed course and a playable Birdo.

Birdo’s last playable Mario Kart appearance outside the mobile title Mario Kart Tour was in Mario Kart Wii, having skipped both Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Her arrival is also the first time a racer has been included in the Booster Course Pass, but it’s unknown if this is indicative of future racer additions.
Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass will launch Spring 2023.
