Tales of Symphonia Remastered is nearly here, standing proud in a release window full of new JRPG competition. The series may be decades past Symphonia’s original release at this point, and yet this redone return has me just as excited as when it graced the cover of Nintendo Power back in 2004.

It’s just a small glimpse into the game, but Bandai Namco has shared a trailer to run through the game’s various systems. Things like Techs, cooking, world exploration, and the Unison Attack are all here; intercut with bits of cutscenes and dialogue.

All these elements and more blend into an all-time favorite both for the genre and games as a whole. Fans and first-timers can return to it all when Tales of Symphonia Remastered comes to Nintendo Switch, as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, on February 17th.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
