Pokémon developer Game Freak may be best known for its long-running monster catching franchise but the studio has had plenty of experimental projects over the years. One of the best regarded was Pocket Card Jockey, released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in 2013 and worldwide three years later.

The game mixed horse racing with solitaire of all things, with successful plays in the latter affecting your performance in the former. We thought it was quite fantastic on that original platform, giving it a 9.0 out of 10 in our review, and now more players will be able to experience it.

Game Freak has announced that Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! will be releasing via Apple Arcade later this month. The gameplay in this new version will remain the same, but races will be rendered in 3D.

iPhone owners will be able to play this new port on January 20th through Apple Arcade. Other games that have been exclusive to the platform have eventually headed to Switch, so here’s hoping the game that made its debut on a Nintendo handheld comes home eventually.
