After years of relative silence, the Switch has been a haven for strategy RPG fans, with everything from huge titles like Fire Emblem to long-awaited ports such as the Langrisser duology. There are also a variety of smaller attempts at the genre, and this latest game is indie through-and-through.

Developed by SideQuest Studios, headquartered in Mainz, Germany, Rainbow Skies essentially melds turn-based RPGs with strategy RPG grid battles, not unlike Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails series. You can get an idea of how it plays in the trailer below which marked the game’s launch on PS4, PS3, and Vita back in 2018.

As Gematsu reports, eastasiasoft will be bringing Rainbow Skies to Switch later in 2023.
