Can I get a “Woomy!”? This year’s The Game Awards spanned 31 categories and a variety of them sported Nintendo nominees. For the sales juggernaut that is Splatoon 3, it managed to secure two nominations. One for Best Family Game, and the other for Best Multiplayer Game.
Well, the adorable pink Kirby took home Best Family Game for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. That left just Best Multiplayer Game, where Splatoon 3 was up against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, MultiVersus, Overwatch 2, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Despite the tough competition, Splatoon 3 took the win (just like finishing off Cohozuna with one second to spare).

Unfortunately, there was no award acceptance for this category. Best Multiplayer Game was part of a quickfire round of award wins, but luckily the next award that allowed for an acceptance speech was for Best Action Game (which Bayonetta 3 took home).
Inklings and Octolings can celebrate this win by winning a Turf War match or Salmon Run gig of their own, and even participate in the very first Big Run event that begins on Friday, December 9th at 4 p.m. PT | 7 p.m. ET and ends on Sunday, December 11th at 4 p.m. PT | 7 p.m. ET.
