Splatoon 3 has been out for a couple of months now, and while there have been a few patches to tweak minor bits and pieces, the first major seasonal update is imminent. Chill Season 2022 is dropping early next month, with new stages, weapons, and even modes displayed in the textually sparse but visually dense video.

Fortunately, we have some extra deets from the Squid Research Lab and Nintendo. The new season will bring two new stages: the returning Flounder Heights and the never before seen Brinewater Springs.

A host of new weapons will be added, with 10 returning weapons from previous games and 3 brand new ones (one roller, one charger, and one shooter). We get a brief glimpse of the charger, a pencil-shaped weapon that can fire two rounds per full charge.

In terms of modes, X Battles are making their way to the game, meaning elite Anarchy Battle players will get the chance to battle it out in an even higher field of competition. And Big Run is coming – the Salmon Run event that’s just… y’know, bigger. The Salmonids will first invade Wahoo World later this year, so check back for more details.

Chill Season 2022 launches in Splatoon 3 on Thursday, December 1st at 4 p.m. PT | 7 p.m. ET.
