Sometimes, you’re a farmer. But you’re also a sheep boy. And there’s an entire town of monster girls you can woo if you can give them enough cabbages (or other things they like). This is the core premise behind Rune Factory 3, which is getting a Special remaster/port to the Nintendo Switch next year, and has a shiny new opening movie to show off.
In line with Rune Factory 5’s absolute slapper of a jazz opening, this one is similarly upbeat and swingy, featuring male and female vocals, a look at some of the town’s bachelorettes, and nifty animation. It’s enough to make you want to start a farm, slay monsters, and court the local mermaid, all equally feasible things to do in real life.
Rune Factory 3 Special is due Spring 2023.
