With the original Octopath Traveler, Square Enix introduced the world to the now-trademarked 2D-HD visual style, which has gone on to power the strategy game Triangle Strategy, a Live a Live remake, and an upcoming remake of Dragon Quest III. With Octopath Traveler II comes the excuse to push the engine even further, and that’s what this latest video clip is all about.

As you can see in the video, Octopath Traveler II is taking things further with a more dynamic camera both in and out of battle, plus the character sprites are taller and more detailed.

Octopath Traveler II will journey onto Switch, PC, and PlayStation on February 24th, 2023.
