Google, in between shutting down projects and generally owning too much power and influence, likes to sneak in little surprises on their website, whether it be in the form of Google doodles or fun bonuses for searching certain terms (here’s a fun, very current one — google “velma”). This one falls in the latter category, as it turns out that searching for Splatoon on the engine (or Splatoon 2 or Splatoon 3) will bring up a little easter egg.

Click on the little smattering of colors just under the suggested game page, and you’ll be able to splat anywhere on screen in a tricolor array of ink, complete with a satisfying “plop” sound effect. There are no points to win or anything so elaborate as that — it’s a simple distraction, something to do at work when your boss isn’t peeping over your shoulder. It works on both desktop and mobile, too!

Try it for yourself and see. Or you can just play Splatoon. Options, options…
