After an ambiguous introduction yesterday, we now have a full look at Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s newest addition to the Pokédex. Wiglett, the Garden Eel Pokémon, may look an awful lot like Diglett, but it’s instead a brand new species.
Water type and certified long boi, Wiglett’s resemblance to Diglett is noted as a mere coincidence based on adaptations to its environment. Now we just need to wait and see if it evolves into a trio…
Also, as the official website confirms, “it’s still unclear what the rest of its body hidden in the sand is like or how long it might be”, and the official classification is the Garden Eel Pokémon.
You’ll be able to catch Wiglett in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet very soon as the games launch on November 18th, 2022.
