From Coconut Island Games and Route 59, their visual novel Necrobarista: Final Pour will be escaping its digital-only label briefly thanks to Super Rare Games. Announced today, the thought-provoking story about death (served up with plenty of coffee) is getting a limited physical release next week.

“This is a story about death and coffee.”

Inspired equally by film and anime, Necrobarista is a unique take on the visual novel medium. Follow a dynamic and diverse cast of characters as they navigate Melbourne’s hipstery coffee culture, the questionable ethics of necromancy, and the process of letting go.

  • Stylized, fully 3D cinematic presentation that draws from anime aesthetics.
  • Soundtrack by Kevin Penkin, BAFTA-nominated composer for Florence, Made in Abyss, and Norn9.
  • Delve into the world of the Terminal and fantasy Melbourne through free-roaming first-person scenes.
  • Featuring goon-sack robots, alchemical coffee, and Australian folk hero Ned Kelly.
  • Support for fourteen languages, including Korean, Arabic, and Russian.

The physical run is limited to 4,000 copies and it’ll include the following all packaged together: the current build of the game on a physical cart, a physical case with a double-sided cover (featuring interior artwork on the inside), a full-color manual, an exclusive sticker, and a 3-pack of trading cards (with 5 to collect, plus 1 shiny variant of the full art card). All that is priced at $33.52 per copy with a limit of two copies per customer. Additional card packs are available for purchase at $2.89 each with a limit of 5 packs per customer. If you want to see what this looks like, we reviewed SRG’s physical release of Wytchwood and included some photos!

You can also pick up Necrobarista: Final Pour via two different bundles that are currently available to purchase (for $101.72 or $158.36). These bundles include the previously released A Short Hike and the next physical release from Super Rare Games (which is currently unknown). The only difference between the bundles is which version of A Short Hike you want – the Standard or the beefy Collector’s Edition. Shipping will be delayed depending on your order number though – the edition run for A Short Hike was increased due to demand and those units are currently being made.

If you’re looking to just add Necrobarista: Final Pour to your physical collection, brew a cup of coffee and head over to Super Rare Games’ site on Thursday, September 8th at 10 a.m. PT | 1 p.m. ET to order your copy. Once all 4,000 copies are gone, you’ll just have to visit the cafe digitally via the Nintendo eShop.
