Oh Tetris 99, my old friend. The puzzle royale has been a staple of Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions, letting players put their block stacking and line clearing skills to the test against the world for free. Nintendo themes have been a common incentive, usually tying into new game releases, but for the 30th Maximus Cup things are going to be a little different.

We’ve got another Second Chance Edition of the multi-day event, bringing back half a dozen previous Nintendo themes for anyone who missed out before. Each will be available for one day only of the six day event, beginning this Friday, August 5th at midnight, PT.
The six returning themes and their dedicated date are:
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury – August 5th
- Miitopia – August 6th
- Mario Golf: Super Rush – August 7th
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD – August 8th
- WarioWare: Get it Together! – August 9th
- Metroid Dread – August 10th
