Even without a full-blown first party Nintendo Direct this week, the rumor mill churns on and on and on — Jeff Grubb, journalist and Giant Bomb contributor who has a good reputation in the industry, claims that a Metroid Prime Remaster is coming our way this holiday season, and that Nintendo is nearly done with remasters for Prime 2 and Prime 3 as well.

When asked if he’d call the games a remaster or a remake, Grubb calls it a “big-boy remaster,” presumably meaning it adds some bells and whistles in addition to cleaning up the graphics. Grubb also praises DirectFeedGames and Emily Rogers, who he says have been “right about this game from the beginning.” These are multiple names backing the rumors, potentially lending them some credence… though, as always, we’ll have to wait and see.

Metroid Prime 4, meanwhile, remains in development limbo. We’ll have to see what’s become of it the next time Nintendo is willing to say anything on the matter.
