In between the release drought of Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there was Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Okay, yes, there was also an Animal Crossing-themed app and “party game” for the Wii U plus a home designing spin-off on the Nintendo 3DS (Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer). Yet, in terms of typical Animal Crossing fun times – playing daily, having cute animal friend neighbors, making oodles of Bells, etc. – the closest thing we had was the mobile title.

Released back in the fall of 2017, the Pocket Camp is fast approaching its 5-year anniversary. That’s almost 5 years of being a camp manager, befriending hundreds of Animal Crossing’s iconic characters (old and new), partaking in monthly events, and drowning in so many items in a crafting-based mobile title where the furniture and clothing inventory limits were 4,300 units each. Now, that limit sounds pretty hefty, but with 4.5 years of content and event-exclusive items that may or may not be reissued, loyal players have been managing their stashes over the last two years or forking out cash via a premium, paid monthly feature. Some players stayed, more left, and others just learned to live with the free version’s limitations. This finally changes today with the warehouse feature being made available to all players. Now camp managers have 16,000 inventory slots (limited to the warehouse) to play with.

This feature went live on Wednesday, June 22nd, at 11 p.m. PT and here are the following update notes (which have been formatted for easier reading):

  • The Warehouse is Now Free: The Warehouse Feature is now available for free to all players!
    • Also, the number of things you can store has been increased!
    • You can now save a maximum of 16,000 kinds of furniture and outfits.
    • Depending on your device, you may see improved device functionality by storing furniture and outfits in the warehouses and reducing the number of items in your inventory. Please try it out.
    • For more details about the availability of the warehouse feature, please see the Inventory Limit for Furniture (Updated) (Note: This is a separate in-game announcement post).
  • Pocket Camp Club Powers Up! The Pocket Camp Club Furniture & Fashion Plan is getting an upgrade!

    • A new item, terrain exchange ticket, is here!
    • By participating in seasonal events starting in July and onward, you can obtain it as an exclusive Furniture & Fashion Plan bonus. It’s a wonderful item that can be exchanged for your favorite campsite terrain options. Please try it out!

    • To show our appreciation for your patience during this update, we have a gift for you! Please be sure to pick it up from your mailbox (before 7/22/22): Leaf Ticket × 20
  • Additional Notes
    • We have swapped out some bugs and fish at each recreation spot. To check creatures after the change, check “Found here” at each recreation spot on the Map.
    • Along with different creatures appearing, the following adjustments will also be made.
      • You may have to catch different creatures to fulfill animal requests.
      • You may obtain different creatures from balloons that appear on the Map.
      • Catch rates of nets and honey will change. For more information, please see the Appearance Rates screen under the Details button before using any nets or honey.

As noted in the update notes, the warehouse feature was part of the Pocket Camp Club Furniture & Fashion Plan (a premium feature that costs $7.99 USD for one month via a monthly subscription). This particular plan is still available with other bonuses, but due to the removal of the warehouse feature, Nintendo will be giving out a gift to previous and current subscribers. The gift is 30 Leaf Tickets for every month a player was subscribed to the plan and 1 Terrain Exchange Ticket. These items will be distributed by the end of June and will be located in the player’s mailbox.

Now with the warehouse feature made available for everyone, will you return to your camp manager duties and visit Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp again?
