Update (6/20/22): This article has received changes regarding the retailer’s country of origin. To clarify, the retailer is Swiss and the language in the hyperlinked page is German.

Persona 5 is easily the pinnacle of “Switch port when,” speaking volumes on how beloved this Atlus RPG is more than half a decade since its release. After stealing yet another show by announcing the updated followup Persona 5 Royal (as well as Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable) is due for an Xbox debut, fans have their fingers crossed for a picaresque place in the presumed summer Nintendo Direct.

Adding fuel to this is a listing spotted on Swiss retailer World of Games, with Joker and the Phantom Thieves slated for an October release on Nintendo Switch.

I cannot emphasize enough that these sorts of listings can be wrong, or presumptive, and this does not confirm that P5R is Switch-bound. Supporting that point of view is that the box art mockup is just a zoomed-in version of existing assets, and not sized to the Switch’s more narrow proportions.

That all said, it’s feeling more and more like a matter of when and not if with respect to the Persona series coming to Switch. Here’s hoping for an official word soon, even if it means when it comes to reveals Nintendo fans had to settle for the last surprise.
