In the wee hours of the morning today, James Turner (designer of several Pokémon from Gens V through VIII and director of fellow Game Freak games Harmoknight and Tembo the Badass Elephant) announced that he had left GF to form a game studio with Johnathan Biddle called All Possible Futures. And less than 24 hours later, their first project has been revealed: an absolutely adorable adventure game called The Plucky Squire.
Featuring a heartfelt tone, the game appears to switch between various 2D and 3D planes in the environment, à la A Link Between Worlds or Super Paper Mario, but more versatile in playstyle. The initial reveal shows off a plethora of slashing, shooting, stamping, and more; and we can’t wait to explore its colorful little world come 2023.
