Bandai Namco previously announced that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R was getting a full requiem in the form of JJBA: All Star Battle R. Today marks the first look at what makes this more than a straight port, as we’ve gotten not only the revival’s release date but a look at four of its additional characters.

The above trailer highlights four of the series’ eight, current story arcs: Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, and Steel Ball Run. Along with the returning characters, playable characters from follow-up game Eyes of Heaven are joining the roster! Speedwagon is withdrawing from the sidelines coolly and taking his rightful place beside Jonathan Joestar as a Phantom Blood representative. While no one seems to be joining from Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders is pulling double duty by adding two of DIO’s Egypt 9 Glory Gods via Mariah and Pet Shop. Rounding out this batch is Diego Brando, a participant of the crosscountry Steel Ball Run race that gains the ability to transform into a dinosaur.

There are more new fighters on the way, not just in the base roster but also via the game’s own Season Pass. Shown at the tail end of the trailer, ASBR will get a Digital Deluxe Edition featuring special colors and costumes as well as four additional playable characters. Also available will be a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Collector’s Bundle, which adds the Digital Deluxe and Pre-Order bonuses (but not the Season Pass, by the look of things) as well as a 10-inch Jolyne Cujoh statue in a specially colored version.

The game’s standard edition will sell for $49.99, compared to the $69.99 Digital Deluxe and $99.99 Collector’s Bundle. Nothing has been shared on Season Pass pricing or who the characters might be, but it’s likely other playable additions to Eyes of Heaven could be at the top of the list for at least the base game’s new fighters. Last but not least, if you’ve got a PlayStation console you’ll be able to download an Early Access Demo soon to try the game out both in online PVP matches and practice modes.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R will approach you on September 2nd for Switch as well as PlayStation and Xbox Consoles. The Steam version will instead arrive a day earlier on September 1st.
