It may have been living in the shadows for a while now, but The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has finally received an update from developer Daedalic Entertainment GmbH and publisher Nacon. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will officially launch this September 1st on multiple platforms, except for Nintendo Switch. According to announcements on the game’s official Steam page, Twitter, and more, the Nintendo Switch version will be released “at a later date” in 2022.

While the screenshots do not provide more details regarding gameplay, they do continue to showcase the beauty of the game’s latest iteration of Middle Earth.
In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, players will take control of the corrupted Sméagol who has been twisted by the Ring of Power’s influence. Taking place shortly after Bilbo Baggins stole the powerful item during the events of The Hobbit, the game takes a dive into what Gollum was up to before meeting Frodo Baggins.
