The worldwide Pokémon GO Fest 2022 event may almost be here, but there’s still more planned for the summer. Previously announced, Niantic would be hosting in-person GO Fest events in the US, Germany, and Japan. Tickets sales for the Germany and Japan events went on sale earlier this month, and now it’s time for the US! Taking place in Seattle, Washington, this in-person event will be taking place over three days.

From Friday, July 22nd, to Sunday, July 24th, Trainers can play Pokémon GO at Seattle Center Park and in downtown Seattle. Trainers can only get tickets for one of the three days for $25.00 (plus applicable taxes and fees) each. Since the event is going beyond Seattle Center Park and into the city, each day will also have a morning and afternoon session. These sessions will focus on the two locations – Trainers who purchase a morning session ticket will start out in Seattle Center Park, whereas Trainers who get the afternoon session ticket will be in downtown Seattle. From there, Trainers will switch locations between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. PT. Here are the exact details via the official Pokémon GO blog:

Morning session and afternoon session

Trainers who purchase a ticket will split their day between event experiences that happen in Seattle Center Park and downtown Seattle. When purchasing your ticket, you will select which part of the day you’d like to experience in the park.

  • A ticket for the morning session offers the event experience within the Seattle Center Park from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the city event experience from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.
  • A ticket for the afternoon session offers the city event experience from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the park event experience from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time.

Please note: Only Trainers with a valid ticket for the applicable session will be able to play within Seattle Center Park. There will be a one-hour intermission between sessions to allow Trainers time to move between areas.

During the citywide event experience, ticket-holding Trainers will experience event-exclusive gameplay in downtown Seattle. Event gameplay will not be available to ticket-holding Trainers outside Seattle.

As for what Trainers can expect from this in-person event, here’s what we know so far:

Event experience

Trainers who purchase a ticket to Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle will be able to enjoy the following in Seattle Center Park on their selected event day and time.

  • Complete event-exclusive Special Research to encounter Sky Forme Shaymin as you adventure within Seattle Center Park.
  • Explore four real-world habitats—two of which are unique to the Seattle event. Each habitat includes unique Pokémon and its very own Collection Challenge.

    • The Oasis: Looking for a tropical respite amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Seattle? Kick back with Alolan Exeggutor, Sand Cloak Burmy, Gible, Panpour, and more.
    • Dreamy Mindscape: Feeling a bit Drowzee? Hoping to curl up for a nap with Teddiursa? Why not catch a little snooze with Pokémon like Snorlax and Litwick? Sleep well!
    • Electric Garden: A fantastical garden with a distinct static in the air. Pokémon such as Hisuian Voltorb, Combee, Foongus, and Helioptile will be drawn to this space.

  • Pokémon from all of the Pokémon GO Fest: Seattle habitats will be appearing in the wild.
  • Claim up to nine total daily Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
  • Team GO Rocket balloons will be appearing more often, and defeating Team GO Rocket Grunts will earn you twice as many Mysterious Components.

Ticket-holding Trainers will enjoy the following during both the city and park event experiences.

  • Shiny Combee and Shiny Panpour will make their Pokémon GO debuts.
  • Eggs will require one-half their normal Hatch Distance.
  • Take a snapshot at the event for a surprise!
  • Event-themed Field Research will be available.
  • You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops and opening Gifts.
  • Confetti will be appearing on the in-game map.

Closing out the announcement, Niantic notes that “[a]ll Trainers in Seattle will have access to special Pokémon GO Fest 2022 raids—including Cresselia and Darkrai in five-star raids” during the three-day event. Now, they don’t say this is limited to ticket holders, but at the very least we know a few Pokémon that will be part of the Five-Star Raids lineup.

You can purchase up to four Pokémon GO Fest 2022 Seattle tickets via the in-game shop in Pokémon GO or through Niantic’s event ticketing site.

Don’t forget, the worldwide Pokémon GO Fest 2022 event will happen first, on Saturday, June 4th, and Sunday, June 5th. Tickets for the event are still available to purchase and gift in the Pokémon GO app for $14.99 each.
