We’re only about a month off from its release, and the events of AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative remain as cryptic as ever. Spike Chunsoft continues to string us along with the barest of informational threads, and now we have a character trailer revealing what appears to be most of the game’s cast properly for the first time.
We have the same four core characters we’ve known about for a bit: Mizuki and Aiba from the first game alongside newcomers Ryuki and Tama, each working as ABIS investigators. Besides them, we get a peek at previously revealed characters like high schooler Kizuna and comedian Komeji, along with new faces like a locksmith named Lien and a café owner with a disturbing mask named Gen. We also see a mysterious masked woman resembling a Zero from Zero Escape, a person apparently running Naixatloz (a made-up conspiracy group from the last game), and more weirdos, culminating in the reveal of Kaname Date from the last game… holding a dirty mag. I would expect nothing less from this game. Or him.
nirvanA Initiative releases next month on June 24th. You can get some bonus DLC outfits for Aiba and Tama (namely meme t-shirts and a hot dog costume) if you buy the game within three weeks after launch. And why wouldn’t you. This is going to be the best video game in three million years. Don’t miss out.
