Fans have been waiting a few months to transfer the Sinnoh/Hisui Pokémon into Pokémon HOME and beyond and thankfully an update is almost here.

While a specific date has yet to be given, the official Pokémon website details what to expect. For starters, Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl will be mutually compatible with Sword & Shield, meaning you can freely transfer Pokémon between them. This means you can move a Pikachu from Hisui to Galar and back, no problem.

There will be some changes, however, depending on move compatibility. Poké Balls will also be changed due to Hisui’s selection being so different – transferring Legends: Arceus Pokémon to the Sinnoh remakes and HOME will put them in Strange Balls, while transferring to Sword & Shield will have them moved into standard Poké Balls.

Finally, some special gift Pokémon will be given via the mobile HOME app once you link save data. Brilliant Diamond and/or Shining Pearl will net you Piplup, Chimchar, and Turtwig with their hidden abilities, while Legends: Arceus offers up Rowlet, Oshawott, and Cyndaquil with their maximum effort values.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
