It may be one of the most popular franchises ever made, a monomythical epic of good and evil, but we all need to admit something — Star Wars can be silly. Just, comically goofy and strange. Have you seen the “Live Slug Reaction” meme going around the internet recently? That’s only one of countless ways to poke light fun at the franchise and its sensibilities. And no media taps into that zaniness better than a Lego video game, as we can see in this launch trailer for the Skywalker Saga:

 

 

Countless scenes from the nonology of science fantasy films are recreated, many with the jokey irreverence that Lego video games are iconic for, like an Abridged Series for the franchise. (Who remembers those?) We also get glimpses of the new gameplay styles and functions that the team has spent a long, crunch-filled development cycle working on.
