As part of today’s Pokémon Presents, a brief announcement was made for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl – specifically for its first, big post-launch Mystery Gift! Beginning February 28th, players will be able to download the exclusive item Oak’s Letter.
This distribution will be live for a month, ending on March 27th, 2022. While it will be claimable fairly early in your adventure, actually using it will require you to enter the Hall of Fame and receive the National Dex. Once you’ve met those requirements, you’ll be on your way to catching one of the cutest Mythical Pokémon of this or any generation.
By meeting up with Professor Oak on Route 224, you’ll observe a strange stone tablet, similar to one found in Kanto. By working with the professor, you’ll unlock the way to Shaymin across the Seabreak Path and all the way to the gorgeous Flower Paradise, last seen in Pokémon Platinum.
As was the case with that game, after catching Shaymin you’ll be able to then change the Gratitude Pokémon into its Sky Forme using a Gracidea Flower item. You can receive one by taking your Shaymin to Floaroma Town and talking to an NPC there!
