Closing out today’s Pokémon Presents was a brief, live-action video that gave way to something much grander. Though it might’ve seemed the long expected Detective Pikachu sequel was getting a little love (there was even a cup of coffee!), instead we saw brief gameplay clips of an all-new Pokémon adventure. Details were scarce, but what we did get were names.

Say hello to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet:

Also tagging along were what can be assumed to be the game’s three all-new starter Pokémon. Based on color and arrangement, we have a Grass cat, Fire crocodile, and Water duck waiting to be befriended wherever this new region is.

It won’t take long for details to arrive, as even more surprising than any of the above is the expected release date. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be released worldwide, inviting you to an open world of Pokémon, in late 2022!
