The vertically-focused dungeon crawler spinoff Shovel Knight Dig has been known about since 2019, and in the three years since it appears to finally be nearing completion. As revealed via this week’s Yacht Club Games Presents, the game is in its final stages of development, hopefully meaning it’ll be out before year end.

In the interim, we have a peek at another of the game’s stages, the Grub Pit. Full of creepy crawlies in a skittery underground (albeit one much more colorful than that of Hollow Knight). There are spikes, dung beetles (excuse me – “Rolling Beetos”) and just a ton of bugs in general. With all luck, we’ll be spelunking through the zone and others within a few months’ time.
