When it comes to Monster Hunter Rise, there’s seemingly no stopping its now multi-platform rampage. In the wake of the game’s PC release Capcom has announced that total, global sales of Rise have passed 8 million. While these are still eclipsed by direct predecessor Monster Hunter World’s own numbers, it’s still an achievement for what’s mostly been Nintendo Switch-exclusive for the vast majority of its life.

When looked at as a whole, the Monster Hunter series has now sold over 78 million titles as of September of last year. Based on Rise’s own growth and continued sales of World and other titles, it’s likely that 80 million is already eclipsed. Once the “Platinum Titles” list is updated, it’s also likely that Rise will overtake both Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 5, putting it within the top five best-selling games from Capcom of all-time.

With Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak on the horizon, there’s no telling how high these totals will continue to climb. If you haven’t yet, you should give our own MHR review a read to learn why all these sales are deserved.
