YIIK: A Postmodern RPG has had a mixed reception since its release in 2019. Our own review gave the game a 5.0, citing a unique aesthetic and strong voice acting, but notes that an uneven script, slow pacing, and rudimentary battle mechanics hamper the experience.

Now, a free update to the game hopes to change some of these negatives. YIIK I.V. is a reimagining of the game that promises updated mechanics, new characters and story elements, new music and cutscenes, and improved load times.

A new trailer shows off some new music and some fancy new visuals that definitely look more dynamic than a lot of what was in the base game. Kudos to Ackk Studios for listening to the criticisms and addressing them in a free update, though no release date has been given.
